In the previous scene, the detective has taken a photograph, which has created a flashback. This flashback scene will start with a shot of a photo which will hopefully let the audience link this opening scene with the action of the detective in the previous scene taking a picture. It should also show a contrast between how calm the scene looks one minute and how chaotic it looks the next.
UPDATE: We have changed our plans and now most of the dialogue from the second scene will be cut as it has been drastically reduced in length, we felt we needed to streamline our film and the length of the scene currently was not conducive to the non-linear narrative and inter-cutting of scenes we were planning.
Criminal 1- (Throws box away in anger) This is a waste of time!
Criminal 2- Starting to think the boss has set us up
Criminal 1- Why don't we just ask our (Pause for dramatic sinister effect).. friend?
(Walk purposefully over to Damien)
Criminal 1- I am going to take this tape off, you scream you die.. got it?
Victim- *Nods frantically*
(Criminal 1 removes tape)
Victim- HELP---- (Cut off when Criminal 1 grabs him by the throat and holds a knife just infront of his face)
Criminal 1- You just don't listen
Criminal 2- Hmph, nobody will hear you anyway
Criminal 1- Now are you ready to co-operate? (Leans in threatening with knife pressing against victim's throat)
Criminal 2- Tell us where it is and we let you go and leave okay?
Victim- *Stares at both of the criminals venomously* Over there.. in the safe in the corner..
Criminal 2- What's the combination to this thing?
Victim- *Random sequence of numbers*
Criminal 1- There's nothing in here!
(Victim's escape ensues)
No more dialogue until low angle shot of criminals throwing body into ditch
(Criminal 2 turns around facing away from Criminal 1)
Criminal 2- *slowly pulls out large knife while speaking* You know, boss told me to make sure there was no evidence
Criminal 1- Funny.. told me the same thing (Shoots criminal 2 and kicks him into the ditch)
